All Barcelona Highlights Tour
This tour combines all Barcelona’s highlights and is ideal for cruise passengers on a visit to Barcelona with limited time. Avoid the queues and see Antoni Gaudí´s most important masterpieces, the charming Waterfront area and Montjuïc Hill for some spectacular views over the city.
This tour is a combination of two of our tours: The Gaudí – Sagrada Familia Tour and The Montjuic & Panoramic Tour.
You will start from Plaça Catalunya, in front of Deutsche Bank & Hotel Olivia Plaza. If you are on a cruise to Barcelona, you have a lot of transportation options to get to the center. The fastest way is to take a metro from Drassanes metro station (located on La Rambla close to the Christopher Columbus Monument) to Catalunya metro station (green line, 2 stops).
This tour takes you along some of the most beautiful architectural artworks of Antoni Gaudí. No less than 7 of his buildings have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage. You will visit the elegant avenue of Passeig de Gràcia where you can see some architectural details and two of Gaudí’s houses. You can admire the stunning façades of Casa Batlló and Casa Milà.
Next stop is Sagrada Familia. This fascinating temple dates from 1882 and is still under construction. Your entrance fee (included in the tour) will help to finish the building, exactly as Antoni Gaudí wished. Inside you will get a lot of explanations from your guide about the significance of the extraordinary details inside one of Barcelona’s most famous landmarks.
THE CHARMING WATERFRONT
The Waterfront area is an attractive and popular area to stroll along the restaurants, beaches, shops and bars or watch open air entertainment from street performers. It was once the old fisherman’s quarter (Barceloneta) and has been modernized and remodeled. Here you will see the Chritopher Columbus Monument and the imposing World Trade Center at just a few steps away from the famous Rambla.
The tour continues to Montjuïc Hill, overlooking the city. You will make a stop at Mirador de l’Alcalde, a terrace offering spectacular views over Barcelona, its harbor and the Mediterranean. You can walk around and get the best viewpoints and take great pictures of your cruise ship in port.
After a visit of the Olympic Ring, the central sports facilities of the ’92 Olympic Games, you continue for a guide visit of Poble Espanyol, the Spanish Village. This open air museum was built for the 1929 Exhibition and houses replicas of squares, streets, buildings and monuments from around Spain. You can enjoy lunch in one of the many bars and restaurants. This is the final stop of the tour, so you can stay as long as you want.
