By foot from Lisbon to Lisbon (city)
Whether you can walk into the city center of Lisbon depends on where exactly you will dock.
Walking from Santa Apolonia cruise terminal
If your cruise ship docks at the Santa Apolonia cruise terminal, you are just 1,5 kilometers away from the city center where you have all the highlights within walking distance. When you exit your ship, cross the parking lot in front of you and go to the left along the banks of the Rio Tejo. After a couple of hundred meters you will see the Terreiro do Paco metro station in front of the ferry terminal. Continue your way and soon you will arrive in front of Praca do Comercio, one of the main squares of Lisbon. From here you have entrance to Lisbon city center with all its highlights. In the left corner of the square you will also find the Tourist Office. Walk across the arcade uphill towards Rossio.
Walking from da Rocha or Alcântara cruise terminal
If you dock at da Rocha Conde de Obidos or Alcantara, you are more than 5 kilometers away from Lisbon city center. Unless you have plenty of time and you are in a sportive mood, walking is not the best option. When you exit the docking area, you will find yourself in a busy place. Some parking lots in front of you, a cobbled-stoned roundabout, noise from the traffic on the bridges and viaducts and probably a lot of trucks entering the dock area. Don’t panic. Getting away there is very easy, because you have Alcantara-Mar train station within walking distance.
