What to do in the Amalfi Coast

Visit the Amalfi Coast during your cruise vacation

For many, this is the most beautiful part of the 8000 km long coast line in Italy. The Amalfi Coast stretches from Naples to Salerno. In many places the landscape was transformed into terraced vineyards and lemon groves. The steep cliffs and rock walls give the coastline a dramatic feel. Some of the small villages seem to balance between heaven, earth and sea.

From Sorrento to Salerno, the narrow road winds along places like Positano, Praiano and Amalfi. Situated high in the hills on the cultivated terraces, you can visit Ravello. During clear weather, the island of Capri can be seen. Most villages along the Amalfi coast are expensive, but their charm compensates for a lot.. They have a fashionable and exclusive character.

This area is one of the most visited in Italy and attracts many tourists during summer. It can be very busy on the coastal road and in the villages. Still, a day trip along the Amalfi Coast remains a must for any cruise passenger.
