What to do in Cagliari
Visit Cagliari during your cruise vacation
The capital of Sardinia is located on the Golfo degli aneli ('Gulf of Angels'). It is the most important commercial center of the island. In the lower part of the city, at the foot of the hill, lie the newer districts and neighborhoods. The old town, Castello, is located on top of the hill. From here, you will have spectacular views of the bay.
The history of the town dates back to the 9th century BC. Phoenicians, Romans, and Arabs ruled the city. After World War II, the city grew into the modern Cagliari we know today, with its typical neighborhoods, where the lively character of Sardinia is never far away.
Cagliari can be explored in a few hours. The most interesting part, Castello, is located on top of the hill. Please note the steep paths and stairs. If you'd like to take it easy, you can explore the city even by Segway.
