Important remarks

Additional information

  • The bus will drop off guests with this option closed to the box office where they can collect the skip the line pass for the Vatican Museums with pre-booked entrance (the box office is within walking distance from the Vatican Museum entrance). Guests are required to collect the skip the line passes on the spot in autonomy and individually, full instructions provided on the vouchers. Headsets available on the spot, inside the Vatican Museums, at extra fare.
  • We strongly recommend customers to plan other activities after museum visits in accordance with entrance time at the complex (pre booked at 10.30 am or 11.00 am or 11.30 am unless otherwise stated).
  • St Peter's Basilica has a strict code of dress: shorts, bare shoulders and mini-skirts are not permitted. This applies to both men and women. Scissors, knives, or other sharp objects may not be brought into the church. During mass on Sundays and public holidays, you may be forced to see the cathedral from just outside the door. During the Pope's Wednesday General Audience, St Peter's may be closed to the public.
  • Customers booked on this option are required to make their own way to the meeting point for the return transfer to Civitavecchia which is the same drop off point in the morning; guests are required to be at the meeting point at least at 3,30 pm un less otherwise stated on final travel vouchers, in case of delay the driver will be forced to leave with the rest of the group and the passengers will be forced to use an alternative mean of transport at their own expenses.
  • On very rare occasions St. Peter’s Basilica closes without notice (e.g. various reasons decided directly by the Vatican). We will endeavor to list any affected dates as they become officially available. Since this event is beyond our control so no refunds or discounts will be issued
  • Tourists visiting St Peters Basilica and / or Vatican Museums will be required to check large bags, backpacks, large video cameras and water bottles at designated check points. We recommend passengers to not bring any of these items. Flash photos are not permitted in the Vatican Museum. Video and photography are not permitted at any time in the Sistine Chapel.
  • Special remark for Vatican Museums:
  • Please kindly note that nearly all sections of the Museums are accessible to disabled visitors, but we cannot consider this extraordinary site totally wheelchair accessibile due to the natural limits imposed by the antiquity of the complex which in many cases have not allowed to offer 100% step free routes inside the many Museums departments.
  • For those with reduced mobility not using their own support, wheelchairs are available free of charge and can be booked before the day of the visit by contacting the Vatican deputy office or upon request at the "Special Permits" desk in the entrance hall. To collect the wheelchair the visitor must present a valid identity document.
  • Toilets with facilities for persons in wheelchairs are situated throughout the Museums. Unfortunately, persons using wheelchairs are not authorized to tour the Vatican Gardens on account of difficulties for their safe movement caused be the nature of the pathways.
  • For people using their own wheelchair or generally with reduced mobility:
  • Vatican Museum guided tours: the tour (including the most famous sections) is 80% step free, the itinerary with the guide offers a visit of some sections which can only be reached by using stairs or with long diversions by using lifts (with obvious repercussions on the fact that the tour is provided in a group, so it is very difficult to manage displacements and reunifications on the spot ). Unfortunately for reasons beyond our control passengers with wheelchair would not enjoy 100% all the guided tour but will be forced to skip a couple of sections during the itinerary; we apologize for any inconvenience.
  • No line tickets only (option without guided tour): guests are free to visit by their own the different sections available; there is a recommended tour route for visitors requiring a wheelchair accessible experience (not all the sections are step free but the main part are 100% accessibile) but guests can enjoy anyway an unique experience inside the Vatican Museums
