Train from Genoa to Cinque Terre

If you have sufficient time you can visit the beautiful Cinque Terre by train from Genoa. When consulting the train timetable between Genoa and the Cinque Terre, put the name one of the five villages as destination. A train ride can take between 70 and 90 minutes and will cost about €9 per person (one way).
You should pay particular attention to the following:
- what is the starting station in Genoa (Stazione Principe is the best option for cruise passengers)
- it is a direct train or do you have to change trains
- in some cases you can also go to La Spezia Centrale first and take the local train from there to the Cinque Terre
How do I get to the train station from the cruise port of Genoa?
If you are docked at the cruise port of Genoa and you want to make an excursion by train, then you best depart from the main railway station Stazione Principe. This is within walking distance of the cruise port. From Principe metro station, walk right. Follow the street and turn left. Soon you arrive at Piazza Acquaverde, where you can see the entrance of the station on your left.
