Depending on where you are going in Ashdod it is still about 3-6 kilometers from the port to the city center. In the port area walking is prohibited and you are required to take the shuttle bus from the port authorities to the exit. From here there are several transportation options. You can walk, take a taxi, shuttle bus or public bus.
If you want to visit Jerusalem or Tel Aviv from Ashdod, then a taxi is the fastest solution. The public bus offers a good alternative to Jerusalem. Tel Aviv is easily reached by train or bus.
