The port of Cannes is too small for most cruise ships. Your ship will anchor in the bay and you will come ashore by tender boat. The tender boat station is located at Quai Laubeuf south of the city, where ferries dock. Sometimes the Quai near new Gare Maritime is used. From Quai Laubeuf, it is a short walk to the major landmarks and to the city center. You have public transportation nearby. Cannes is also the perfect starting point for a trip to Nice or Monaco.

Getting around in Cannes
From the tender boat station at Quai Laubeuf, you have easy access to the city center. The famous Palais des Festivals is only 800 meters (0.49 miles) away. It's a nice walk along the old port with its beautiful yachts moored up. At the Palais de Festivals you will find the Tourist Office and a small tourist train that takes you along Cannes' hot spots. The old town Le Suquet is even closer to the tender boat station. It's only 500 meters (0.31 miles) away, although the road is a little more challenging and steep. Across the car park from Quai Laubeuf you will find nr. 8 bus stop. Take this open topped bus along the seafront (Croisette) and see the many famous luxury hotels like the Carlton and the Martinez.
If you plan to visit Nice or Monaco from Cannes, your best options are an organized tour, taxi or train.
