In Ajaccio you dock within walking distance from the city center. Most sights are not so far apart, so you can perfect explore the city on foot.

If you want to visit other places on the island, then you should opt for a taxi or organized tour. The possibilities with public transport are rather limited.

The most famous inhabitant of Ajaccio was Napoleon Bonaparte. He was born here. Many buildings, squares and monuments in the city remind  to him.
