Beach Bike Tour
Great opportunity to see all amazing sights of the Barcelona coastline
This guided bike tour takes you along Barcelona’s sprawling coastline. You will see its different but typical areas and neighborhoods. In just a few hours you will get a good impression of its diversity and you will always remember that Barcelona is a city overlooking the sea…
Your bike tour starts at Calle marquesa nr 1 in the Barceloneta district. If you are on a cruise to Barcelona you can easily reach it from the port. It’s actually a nice walk along the Waterfront area of about 1 kilometer from the Christopher Columbus Monument (the shuttle bus stop).
On your bike and in the company of a monitor-guide you will see all the amazing sights of Barcelona’s coast line. You kick off with Port Vell, once the old port and now modernized and transformed into a recreational zone where history meets the modern era.
You continue to Barceloneta, the old sailor’s and fishermen neighborhood where you can still feel the maritime atmosphere. It houses one of the most popular and lively beaches in Barcelona, day and night time!
You leave this historic area to visit the modern Olympic Port with its two towers and immense eye-catching Golden Fish. This port was built for the ’92 Olympic Games. You continue the tour to the Forum (Universal Culture Forum) riding past different fine beaches.
Next on your way is El Poblenou which was the industrial center of Barcelona at the end of the 19th century. It was once a town full of factories and working class residential areas completely separated from Barcelona. After a dramatic transformation present and past coexist now in harmony.
You will continue driving and pass through the Olympic Villa, the residence of the ’92 Olympic athletes before ending up at the Ciutadella Park with its beautiful flowers and fountains.
