What to do in Split

Visit Split during your cruise vacation

The port city of Split is the second largest city in Croatia. It plays an important economic and tourism role for the country. Many of the Dalmatian islands can only be reached via Split and there are numerous ferry connections with Italy.

In the 4th century, the Roman Emperor Diocletian commissioned to make his palace. Today this is the main landmark, with the cathedral as the most striking monument. The historic city center is well preserved and is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The city has a certain tranquility and along the quayside one can enjoy a walk or have a drink at one of the outdoor cafés.
