What once was a small fishing village, often plagued by pirates, is now one of the major towns for the beau monde along the Cote d'Azur. Every year, Saint-Tropez receives over 5 million visitors. Many painters and sculptors find their inspiration in this small town. Despite its big name, it still remains charming and pituresque. In the 50's  this village became popular by movie stars, authors, entrepreneurs, and the wealthy.

 A nice stroll can be taken along the small harbor and between the art studios and boutiques in the narrow streets. The beaches of Saint-Tropez are among the most beautiful of the French Riviera.

Practical

Saint-Tropez is a must-see place. By itself, it is not very big and there are not many sights. You go there mainly for the atmosphere. A few hours are sufficient to explore the town. Depending where you come from, travel times can be long.
