Getting around in Ajaccio

In Ajaccio you dock within walking distance from the city center. Most sights are not so far apart, so you can perfect explore the city on foot.

If you want to visit other places on the island, then you should opt for a taxi or organized tour. The possibilities with public transport are rather limited.

Shore excursions around Ajaccio

The most famous inhabitant of Ajaccio was Napoleon Bonaparte. He was born here. Many buildings, squares and monuments in the city remind  to him. Furthermore Ajaccio is a beautiful and peaceful city where you can pleasantly walk along the marina and fishing port, citadel and promenade along the water.

If you have enough time, you can also visit other places on the island. Given the relatively limited possibilities with public transport you should choose an organized excursion.
